We mourn the passing of Martin B. Boorstein, a dedicated leader whose wisdom, generosity, and keen intellect leaves a lasting impact on AHRC Nassau and people with developmental disabilities across New York State. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family.
A board member since 1990 and longtime Finance Committee Chairman, Marty was a problem-solver, using his financial expertise to strengthen AHRC Nassau and ensure its long-term capacity to serve. He was a founding board member of the Nassau County AHRC Foundation, a trustee of its Community Trusts, and a driving force behind Partners Health Plan—the nation’s first managed care organization for people with developmental disabilities.
Marty’s impact was both strategic and deeply personal. His steadfast belief in possibility transformed countless lives, and our family of organizations remains forever grateful.
